At the helm of NTT business in India from Jan 1, 2021, Sharad Sanghi would oversee three key business entities viz. NTT India Ltd., NTT Com India and NTT Netmagic.
Sharad would be responsible for growing the NTT business in India, with over 6500 employees, 10 high-density and hyperscale data centers delivering both transformational services elements including managed hybrid infrastructure, and cloud services, as well as with its foundational technology solutions and services to over 5000 enterprise customers.
Sharad is also the CEO, Global Data Centers and Cloud Infrastructure (India), NTT Ltd. Sharad Sanghi exemplifies what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur, to generate returns for all stakeholders, and be deeply connected in everything one does. His passion and commitment to deliver value to clients is evident in the way he founded a customer-focused service organization called Netmagic in July 1998, which was later acquired by NTT, a Fortune 500 company.
Sharad is considered a pioneer in the Indian cloud computing space, and his vision has helped the NTT Netmagic become a leader in the Public Cloud services market in India. His strong leadership, coupled with his understanding of the India market and the NTT businesses, will be invaluable for the growth of these three key business entities.
Sharad is an industry veteran with over 20 years of extensive experience in developing Internet backbone infrastructure and providing Internet services. He is also the Co-chairman of the Data Center Council of apex associations’ namely the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Associated Chambers of Commerce of India (ASSOCHAM).
During a six-year stint in the US, Sharad worked for Unified Network Management Architecture Group at AT&T Bell Labs, the Backbone Engineering Group of NSFNET (ANS) and the Router Systems Development Group of Advantis (IBM Global Network). He has also helped Merrill Lynch and Bankers Trust design and deploy Wide Area Networks.
Sharad is an Electrical Engineer from IIT Bombay and holder of a Master’s degree from Columbia University, New York.
